Today we celebrate and give thanks to all the fathers in our lives. Addi has been blessed with an awesome daddy! I know it sounds very cliche, but there is no way I could do this parenthood thing without Jon. He is so involved in raising Addi and plays such an active part in the day to day stuff. Jon changes diapers, bathes Addi, feeds her, picked out all the baby equipment (strollers, carseats, crib, etc), and puts her to bed. He knows exactly how much formula she drinks every day, when she should get her bottles, how long she should nap, and how much she weighs. Pretty amazing!! He not only impresses me with how much he wants to be involved, but he supports me in more ways than he will ever know. Whenever I have a debate about whether or not Addi should nap or what time I should bathe her or what I should feed her I can always ask him and he always has an educated answer. Not only is Addi lucky, but so am I!
Happy Father's Day!

A Day in the Life of Addison Arbles
Our little Addison Arbles is a busy, busy little girl. At 11 months she has quite the personality...Addi is very curious about EVERYTHING! She is extremely "niele" and is constantly looking around to make sure she can be a part of what everyone else is doing. Addi is very talkative and is constantly babbling and has recently started using her hands to talk which I think she gets from her daddy. Unfortunately she has also inherited her mommy's Korean temper and throws a tantrum when things get taken away from her or when she doesn't like something. She is a very vocal little girl and will let you know exactly when she does or doesn't like something. What impresses me the most is the things that she has picked up from watching those around her. She'll pick up my iphone and hold it to her ear and say "hello" (although it sounds like "how"). Addi has recently started saying "OK" while nodding her head and says "hi" and "bye" while waving. Addi's favorite word, however, is "Dada".
Thanks to our sitter Addi has a pretty good schedule that she follows every day...
6:30 Wakes up smiling and babbling in her crib until someone goes and gets her
6:45 Morning bottle (4 ounces) and 1/2 jar of baby food fruits
Playtime!
9:00 Bottle (4 ounces) then down for a 1/2 hour-1 hour nap
11:30 Lunch of 2 ounces of milk in a sippy cup, 1 jar of veggies and 1 jar of fruit
Playtime!
1:30 Bottle (2 ounces) then down for a 2 hour nap
3:30 Bottle (4 ounces) then Cheerios or bananas for snack
Playtime! (usually outside)
6:00 Dinner of 2 ounces of formula w/rice cereal, 1 jar chicken and rice or turkey, 1 jar fruits
Playtime!
8:00 Bottle (4 ounces) then into the crib for the night. She usually plays by herself before putting herself to sleep by 8:30. We don't hear a peep from her till the morning.

Swimming Lessons
For the months of May and June we signed Addi up for infant swim at the YWCA. The classes are for half and hour every Saturday in the heated, covered baby pool. The first few classes, mommy went in with Addi and she loved the water. This was her first time in water other than her bath so I was a little worried that she would be the kid screaming in the pool. She had a blast and didn't even complain when in came time to "dunk the babies" in the water.

Picnic Times
One of our favorite things to do on sunny weekend afternoons is go to the park and picnic with Shaun, Emi, and Paige Suzuki. The two girls love getting into trouble together and its nice to relax under the shady trees at Liliuokalani Park.

Where did April go?
I blinked and then it was May!! I can't believe how fast April has gone by! So much has happened in April and in just one month, Addi went from inch-worming her way across the floor to crawling and pulling herself to a standing position. She has also developed quite the personality and is quickly learning the word "NO". Addi gets into EVERYTHING she isn't supposed to and has learned to tantrum when things get taken away from her or when she gets scolded. She charges around the house with a fearless attitude and Addi's babysitter has told us that we won't have to worry about her on the playground. Addi is the only girl at the sitter and at just 9 months old has learned to beat up on the boys. She is a very happy baby though and is always babbling and giggling to herself when playing. We have also learned that she is VERY ticklish and daddy loves to tickle her. She is so much fun and it is so amazing just how much of a personality she has developed and how quickly she learns new things!
Playing bubbles with Tutu
Addi loves looking at herself in the mirror
But she also loves cuddling with daddy on the couch
We set up a bookshelf for Addi and she always goes into her room and pulls almost all the books off the shelf and leaves them all over the room. One morning she pulled one of my favorites off the shelf - Pat the Bunny!
We try to get together with the Suzukis often and one afternoon we all went on a picnic at Liliuokalani Park
This is the face I get when I pick Addi up from the sitter and it seriously makes my day!
Addi loves playing with hats!
This was one of the first nights Addi stood on her own.
For some reason this is what Addi's mood is like right before she goes to bed. I have to resist the temptation to keep her up with me all night because she's always so happy.
One of the highlights of April was Addi's first parade! We spent the day watching the Merrie Monarch parade and were blessed by beautiful weather.
Watching the Merrie Monarch parade.
My mom's friend Joy came to visit from Portland for the Merrie Monarch festivities.
After the parade because it was such a hot day, we spent some time in the wading pool at home. This was Addi's first time in a pool and she loved the water.
Every Sunday we go to church then go to Papa Correa's house for breakfast where Addi gets to spend time with Aunty Mary.
Playing with blocks!
Another highlight in March was that Uncle Ryan came to visit!

March Madness
One of the highlights of March was Addi's friend Paige turned one! We went to Paige's birthday party (which was also Addi's first birthday party) and celebrated with good Hawaiian food, lots of balloons, and friends. Addi spent most of the time hanging out with Aunty Erica and Aunty Jan which they loved!
This month my sister Erica, Jon, and I also ran our first 5K marathon (if you can call it a marathon). While Jon and Erica trained for months before the marathon, I decided that I could just get up off the couch, run 3.1 miles, and call it a day. I did run all 3.1 miles, but then proceeded to get severely sick from dehydration after the run. Pretty embarassing!
